Dear Alchemists,
Over the past several newsletters, we have been laying a foundation.
In Newsletter #13, we began with the First Principle from The Kybalion: Mentalism — All is Mind. Not as abstract philosophy, but as a living principle. Reality is not fixed matter; it is mental in nature.
In Newsletter #14, we expanded into what the text calls the Mental Universe. We contemplated the staggering implication that we are not separate from the field of Mind – we exist within it.
In #15, we began to wrestle with what that means personally. If reality is mental, then our participation matters. Focus matters. State matters.
In #16, we completed that arc. We stabilized identity within the Divine Paradox – recognizing The All in Everything. Not as ego inflation, but as alignment. The wave remembering it belongs to the ocean.
And now we arrive at the Second Principle:
Correspondence.
“As above, so below; as below, so above.”
Chapter Eight of The Kybalion, titled The Planes of Correspondence, introduces what are called the Three Great Planes:
- The Great Physical Plane
- The Great Mental Plane
- The Great Spiritual Plane
From there, the authors move into subdivisions… and subdivisions within subdivisions.
And if we are not careful, we can get lost in the sauce.
While I absolutely encourage you to read and appreciate the architecture described in this chapter, full gnosis of every level is not necessary to understand (or apply) the Principle of Correspondence.
There is one line in that chapter that, to me, contains the essential key:
Matter is but a form of energy – energy at a low rate of vibration.
Sit with that.
If matter is simply energy vibrating more slowly, then what we call “reality” is not solid in the way we once believed. It is energy stabilized. Energy condensed. Energy collapsed into form.
And what determines how that energy collapses?
Resonance.
Your emotional state.
Your sustained focus.
Your dominant vibration.
The exterior world reflects the inner world because the inner world is the tuning fork.
Energy in its unobserved state behaves like a wave – fluid, potential, infinite. When observed, it behaves like a particle – defined, measurable, material.
This is reminiscent of the Double-slit experiment in quantum physics. When particles are not observed, they behave as waves. When observed, they collapse into particles.
Observation affects outcome. Focus affects form.
“As above, so below” is not merely mystical poetry – it is a law of resonance.
Your inner state (above) organizes your outer experience (below).
And here is where Mentalism and Correspondence merge beautifully:
If All is Mind and matter is condensed energy…
Then your inner state determines what materializes.
You do not need to master cosmic taxonomy.
You do not need to memorize every plane and sub-plane.
You need to master your state.
Everything is energy.
Energy vibrates.
Vibration responds to resonance.
Resonance follows focus.
Shift the above (the mental and emotional plane) and the below reorganizes accordingly.
This is what it means to become a conscious builder of your life.
Not through force.
Not through control.
But through alignment.
“As above, so below” is both a mirror and an invitation.
And the question becomes:
What are you consistently giving permission to collapse into form?
If this principle stirred something in you, I invite you to continue the conversation live.
Our discussion group is now being held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM EST.
These gatherings are a space to explore the teachings of The Kybalion, ask questions, and deepen our understanding together, not just intellectually, but practically.
Details and Zoom access can be found here:

Because these principles are not meant to be admired.
They are meant to be embodied.
I would love to see you there.
With steadiness and clarity,
Denise Perez
